memorial day weekend

There are about a million different things I love about my man. One of my favorites though would be his ability to cook the best food. He is amazing at mixing flavors and textures and creates heavenly dishes. Tonight was no different. He made Orange Roughy, laid on top of a creamy corn blend topped with corn kernels, fresh asparagus, pirogues and a small portion of strip steak. Delish! Here's a photo to make you drool :)

When we went out to walk Bella after dinner, the neighbors were out with there two littles ones and I quickly snapped a few photos of them - they are so so cute.

Hope everyone's having a great holiday weekend!

kind words: a fraction of why i love this "job"

kind

–adjective,-er, -est.
1.
of a good or benevolent nature or disposition, as a person: a kind and loving person.

Still being in my first official year of business, I am overwhelmed by the amazing people I have had the opportunity to work with and for in such a short period of time. Most importantly are the amazing clients I've had thus far. Each and every single person I have photographed has been more than awesome to work with and  have all been excited, patient, encouraging, friendly, warm ... kind people.

After leaving a session with clients, it's always a slightly sad goodbye for me because I feel like I get to see into little pieces of each relationship that I photograph that so many others don't get to see, or don't pay close enough attention to witness, what I like to call,  the "relationship magic". The little glances, smiles, laughs, touches...I love it all. I eat it up. And it is my biggest hope and wish that after we leave from our session, I will hear from them again to spend some more time together and capture the next milestone in their lives with my camera.

I have received some amazingly "kind" feedback from my clients and wanted to share a few of them here. Each and every one of you have been so extremely crucial in helping me get to where I am today. Thank you for trusting me with photographing such important moments, for loving your photos and being excited about your sessions. I hope that you cherish your photos forever, as I'll cherish the time I was able to spend capturing them :)

summer time: shoe dilemma

It's finally here!! Warmth, green grass, blue skies, long walks with the dog - summer has finally hit Cleveland and this last week has been gorgeous and hot. Friday at my "real" job is casual day so I put on a really cute summer dress that I got from Target a few weeks back and was all excited to rock it out on a gorgeous day with my new fun haircut, see haircut & dress below (taken on my webcam):

...until I realized. I have no summer shoes. Literally, none. When we got our "angel" of a beagle puppy last August we learned quickly that she had quite the appetite for shoes and I lost several of my favorite strappy summer sandals in the training of our Bella.

So, I was pretty upset this morning. I had to wear purple closed toe flats with this dress and it just wasn't what I wanted. So needless to say, I shopped! I ordered some super cute pair of shoes off of DSW's on-line store and they have a pretty amazing sale going on right now - buy two get 25% off and free shipping on any order over $35. I got 4 pairs of amazing shoes for what it would cost me to get two pairs from Dillards, Macy's, etc. I can't wait to get them in the mail next week and share some photos! ... I like shoes just a little bit if you couldn't tell ;)

Anyway, I hope everyone has a phenomenal Memorial Day weekend spent with family and friends, hamburgers and hotdogs, kool-aid and ice cream, music and laughter, and pictures...remember to take pictures! I am off to shoot a wedding tomorrow and relaxing the rest of the weekend with my fiance and puppy.

Until next time :)

jumping bean: part ii

I posted last week a short sneak from this family shoot and wanted to post just a few more of the littlest one, damien and their beagle! I am a huge lover of puppies and especially adore beagles as my bella is our favorite puppy in the world. Here's a few more images from my family session!

Meet Pee Wee - super rambunctious, but I was still able to catch these two:

Meet Damien, big brother to the ever so cute "bean":
Alanna is two and had a little difficulty in the beginning with photos until Damien had the great idea of picking some flowers, the resulting images are so cute and I love the relationship that these two have:

And here's some of Alanna playing on her own and doing what she does best ... being the cutest little blonde-haired girl on the block:

tim, anna & cora: family + maternity

So, because this post is about my ridiculously gorgeous family, I had a pretty hard time picking my favorites, so I'm sharing the majority of them here...which makes for my longest blog post yet. How handsome is my brother, seriously?! How beautiful is my sister in law, seriously?! How cute is my niece, seriously?!

PS - The three "seriously"'s are in honor of the most amazing Grey's Anatomy episode EVER that premiered last night. Seriously.

PSS - This one's for my niece that will be here so soon - I can't wait to meet you sweet girl and love on you, cuddle you, give you kisses and watch you grow. I already love you so much.
